Google Analytics
The most popular reference to the term "analytics" is Google's traffic data program called Analytics. In a general sense, the word "analytics" refers to web site visitor data.
Google Analytics gives users the ability to track everything from basic data such as unique/repeat visits and geo-location hits, to more advanced functions like tracking goal conversion from qualified search engine traffic. This data is especially useful for webmasters and search engine optimizers. It gives them the ability to know exactly where their visitors come from and what kind of habits they have once on the site. Google Analytics accounts are free.
Google offers Conversion University, a help program designed to train webmasters in their proficiency in using the Analytics system.
